Drunk Drivers Cause Accident: 5 Injured!

Police Press Office reported on three separate traffic accidents that occurred across the country in the last two days.

GAZİMAĞUSA

In Gazimağusa, today around 03:00, Ilaman Gylyjov (M-31), while driving vehicle GC 621 on Mustafa Kemal Boulevard under the influence of 84 mg of alcohol, carelessly attempted to pass on the right side of truck PU 504 driven by Muhammad Ajmal (M-32), which was moving in the same direction and turning onto Hazar Street. The vehicle sustained damage after hitting the front right side of the truck, but no injuries were reported. Legal action has been initiated against Gylyjov for "driving under the influence of alcohol" and "causing a traffic accident."

On the Lefkoşa-Girne Highway, yesterday around 23:00, Amed Aslan (M-34), while driving vehicle JG 509 towards Lefkoşa under the influence of 92 mg of alcohol, lost control of the steering wheel, veered off the road, and crashed into steel barriers. No injuries were reported. Legal action has also been initiated against the vehicle driver Aslan.

GİRNE

In another accident in Girne, today around 04:00, Basel Y.K. Musallam (M-21), while driving vehicle ZVB 029 on İskendurun Street, lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a stone wall on the roadside. Passengers Buse Kolcu (F-19), Sudanaz Çetinel (F-18), and İdil Çiroz (F-18) were injured in the accident. The injured were taken under observation at Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital, while driver Musallam and passenger Osaid M.A. Hajmohammad (M-21) were taken to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital. Musallam was diagnosed with a fracture in his left hand, and Hajmohammad was diagnosed with a fracture in his right leg.

Police stated that the investigation into all three accidents is ongoing.
