According to information from the Presidential Office, Sibel Tatar, as part of her visits to women participating in village women’s courses within the scope of lifelong education, met with women from Ötüken, Mehmetçik, and Erenköy at the Ötüken Women’s Education Institute and in Mehmetçik.

During her visits, Sibel Tatar provided information to the trainees about the “Rebirth of Silk in Northern Cyprus” and “Rebirth of Felt in Northern Cyprus” projects, carried out under the auspices of the Presidency and spearheaded by Sibel Tatar, and the “Kozada” and “Keçada” brands.

Sibel Tatar demonstrated practically how to make the Medoş Tulip, an endemic flower of Cyprus, as a felt brooch, a product of the Keçada Project, and made a felt Medoş Tulip with the trainee.

The work carried out in Ötüken was followed by Ötüken Mukhtar Turgut Özyöre, while the work in Mehmetçik was followed by Mehmetçik-Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu.

Sibel Tatar congratulated Ötüken Women’s Education Institute Trainer Zeynep Arat and Mehmetçik and Erenköy Course Trainer Hülya Tekmanoğlu, wishing them success in their work.

96 SHEEP PENS MARKED WITH ROAD AND BOUNDARY SIGNS

The project cost 14,267,392 TL and was funded by the Republic of Turkey Development and Economic Cooperation (KEI) Office. A total of 96 sheep pens, requested by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Livestock Department, were marked for road, boundary, pole, and lintel locations.

WORK COMPLETED ON 18 RURAL PLOTS

In addition, marking work was completed on 18 rural plots at a cost of 1,494,691 TL, funded by the Ministry of Interior.

The implementation of the projects is scheduled to begin early next week and is expected to contribute to the lives of the villagers in the region.

Gürsel Uzun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority, said, “With the instructions of our Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the contributions of the Republic of Turkey Development and Economic Cooperation (KEI) Office, 96 sheep pens have been marked for road, boundary, pole, and lintel locations within the scope of the Vadili Village projects funded by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Livestock Department, at a cost of 14,267,392.18 TL. Marking work has also been completed on 18 rural plots at a cost of 1,494,691.90 TL, funded by the Ministry of Interior. H.D., who was arrested on charges of aggravated assault in Nicosia, appeared in court. Police officer Sıla Topbaş presented the facts to the court.

The police stated that on September 13, 2019, the suspect, in a dormitory room in Nicosia, seriously assaulted his girlfriend by punching her arms and legs because she wanted to break up with him. The police announced that the complaint was filed on September 17, 2029, and an investigation was launched into the incident. It was noted that the complainant underwent a medical examination on the day of the complaint and a report was obtained stating that there were signs of assault and battery on her body.

The police stated that the suspect was wanted and that an immigration investigation revealed that he had left the country on September 14, 2019. It was determined that the suspect entered the country through Ercan Airport on September 21, 2025, and he was arrested at the airport. The police stated that the investigation was completed and that the suspect came to the country as a tourist, requesting bail.

Judge Şevket Gazi, who evaluated the testimony presented before him, ordered the suspect to be prohibited from leaving the country, to deposit 50,000 TL in cash as bail, and to report to the police once a week.
