Allegation of Irregularities at Fazıl Polat Pasha Farm of the Foundations Administration: “Baseless”

The Foundations Organization and Religious Affairs Department Retirees Association has alleged irregularities at the Fazıl Polat Pasha Farm, which belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations.

In a statement, the association claimed that the Fazıl Polat Pasha Farm was leased irregularly and that the gardens are on the verge of drying out due to neglect. They also noted that the General Directorate of Foundations rejected the association's findings as "baseless."

The statement further asserted that the farm's irrigation needs were met with water brought from Turkey, but the amount of water provided by the tenant has been reduced by 75%. It was also stated that "the justification of 'we will drill a new well' is not credible, given that the existing wells are known to contain salt water."

The statement included the following:

"The fact that the gardens have reached their current state since the tenant's first year clearly demonstrates that the tenant's intention is not to produce citrus fruits. Nevertheless, the management of the General Directorate of Foundations is knowingly condoning this situation and failing to conduct the necessary inspections."

"As the Foundations Organization and Religious Affairs Department Retirees Association, we demand that agricultural engineers from the Department of Agriculture go to the region to conduct an on-site inspection and that the results be shared with the public."
